Welcome to the city of tourism, hospitality, spirituality and natural beauty of Regional Center Sylhet of Bangladesh Open University (BOU). Sylhet is also called the second London. Here people are conscious about education and skill development as most of them want to go abroad. As a result, literacy rate of this division is increasing day by day. There are 6,242 educational institutions for 1, 10,34,863 people. Bangladesh Open University is one of them. Sylhet RC started its academic programs in 1994 with a view to educating people with 15 general and need based academic programs through Open and Distance Learning Mode. Now this RC is conducting tutorial services with 71 study centers and 895 tutors.

Now this RC have as many as 14 thousand learners. Most of them are studying in SSC, HSC, BA/BSS, BAgEd, BEd, MEd programs. Rest of them are studying in BBA, BBA-Bangla Medium, MBA, MBA-Bangla Medium, BBS, DCSA, MPH & BMEd programs. NICHE-1 program is specially designed for the Army, Navy & Air Forces.

Sylhet RC has four Sub-Regional Centers (SRC) as Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj and Chhatak. Sylhet RC along with its four SRCs are spontaneously providing logistic supports to its learners like information (about Admission, Registration, Examination and Result) Distributing Study Materials and Solving the Problems of Learners.

Sylhet Regional Center is situated at Pirojpur, (Near Chandipul Point) Dakshin Surma, Sylhet.
