Profile of Evnat Bhuiyan


Evnat Bhuiyan is currently serving as Lecturer of Law at Bangladesh Open University. She has completed her LL.B. and LL.M. from Department of Law, Jagannath University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She started her academic career as Lecturer of Law at the Department of Law, European University of Bangladesh. She was the Research Associate and the Ziauddin Tareq Ali Research Fellowship Awardee for Cambodia from Center for the Studies of Genocide and Justice of the Liberation War Museum, Bangladesh.

She represented Bangladesh being the 1st Representative Team ever selected from Bangladesh in the global platform of the prestigious 34th International Jean Pictet Competition, 2020, Bali, Indonesia (a simulation, training and mooting residential program) where 48 international teams around the world participated. She secured full scholarship from ICRC Swiss Federation and Concours De Jean Pictet for outstanding writing in the screening phase of the participating teams selected for the very competition.

Apart from international participation and academic contribution, she has noticeable achievement in mooting. She is a reluctantly diligent friend of Jessup Bangladesh and ILSA Bangladesh chapter. She has served twice in the 7th and 8th Bangladesh Preliminary Rounds as the Presiding Judge at the Phillip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2023 and 2024. She participated as the Researcher as team member representing the Team Jagannath University in the 1st Phillip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, National round in 2017 held at Northern University of Bangladesh.

Additionally, she has attained Best South Asian Team accolade in the SAARC Round of 4th Prof. NR Madhava Menon Law Moot Court Competition, Conference and Colloquium 2018 held in Greater Noida, Delhi, India. Her team was nominated and invited to participate at the 16th Commonwealth Moot Court Competition and Law Conference, in conjunction with the 20th Commonwealth Law Conference in Livingstone, Zambia for SAARC round success.

During her early law school career, she was involved in organizational assignation. She worked as Editor in national and international student-led Law Journals. She worked as facilitator and collaborator in Active Citizen program of British Council from Wave Foundation. She was consistently dedicated in research, editorial works, report writing, mooting, Department amelioration, student engagement and improvement activism, leadership, student assistance and patronage.
