Audit Cell performs the following functions and ensure transparency, accountability and integrity of BOU’s financial management.

Conducting pre-audit on examination department answer sheet evaluation/payment of examiner remuneration bill of Bangladesh Open University and providing audit opinion on related documents.

Perform pre-audit on payment of university manuscript authorship/editing/auditing honorarium and provide audit opinion on related documents.

Carrying out pre-audit on university textbooks, question papers, examination books and journals, printing and binding supply bills and giving audit opinion on related documents.

All types university repairments (Construction, repair and maintenance), generator repair maintenance, gas, electricity and telephone bills on relevant documents by carrying out pre-audits on fuel payments.

All types of university products (certificates, mark sheets, testimonials and OMR sheets paper (including collection), performing pre-audits on related service and physical service providing audit opinions.

12(Twelve) Regional Centers and 80 Sub-Regional of BOU’s to formulate internal audit action plan, conduct audit activities and prepare and submit audit report to authorities with the aim of establishing internal control system, transparency and accountability of financial transactions/ income-expenditures.

To assist the authorities by providing necessary opinion and advice in the light of applicable laws and regulations for setting various types of financial policies of BOU’s Head Office, 4 offices, 6 schools and 12 departments, 12 regional centers and 80 sub-regional centers.

Assisting in the formulation of various policies, rules and regulations involving financial integration.

To inform the authorities about the various orders, rules, circulars made and issued by the government.

To perform other official duties as directed by the authority from time to time.
